A study accomplished by the American Academy of Periodontology concludes that women maintain a better oral health condition than men. The study was accomplished with 201 periodontists that received a questionnaire sent by e-mail, of these 91% answered the research. Another interesting data is that 9 among 10 periodontists consider that the lack of dental floss use is the main cause of periodontal problems and 6 among 10 consider that the flossing technique can get better after technical orientation.
